Nthavi Music offers rapper a management deal

“NOTHING CAN STOP GODS WORK FOR YOUR LIFE,” something’s may seem to take forever but believing, having faith and also being patient is all you need. Everything is known to have its own time and believe it or not Lumphoenix(s) time is now.

For the past few months Lumphoenix has been busy networking with other people who are making major moves in the music industry, him taking his time to get out there just to meet up with relevant people eventually paid off. He received a call while he was at work saying that he should immediately travel to Pretoria to go meet up with Boskey Nkolele founder and owner of Nthavi Music and Lumphoenix decided not to waste any time and went to the meeting meaning that he had to put his work on the line which of course turned out to be a great decision for his career.

At the meeting everything went well and better than expected whereby, Boskey was impressed with Lumphoenix, so their relationship began. Liking what he was hearing he then asked to have a copy of the “Rise Of da Phoenix Mixtape” and other available songs and Lum did just that. Since their meeting things started developing that’s when Boskey decided to tell Lumphoenix that he sees real potential in him, a great investment in his music and that he would like to work hand-in-hand with him.

Lumphoenix was then offered a management contract agreement under Nthavi Music, known to take his music professionally Lumphoenix read the contract throughout then forwarded it to his lawyers so that they can review it and object where necessary until both parties are happy. Right now it’s just a matter of finalising everything including putting ink on paper, so you fam can see our boy Lumphoenix doing what he does best.

Hoping that this deal will become a success and growth to the name Lumphoenix, we as his team would like to wish him luck.

Lumphoenix & Soshangaan

During his business visit for a workshop at the NYDA Head Quarters in Pretoria Lumphoenix decided to go and check on a friend whom they’ve been in a group together back in the day called Black Warriors. Glad to see each other as always and since Soshangaan had been busy with his upcoming album Bomba Muchangana they then thought it would be a great idea to head straight to Soshanguve where the studio is located.

Boys being boys they went passed a liquor store for a six to get them in the mood, they later met up with CEO and founder of Mammas House Studios Vigilante and everything was on smash. The session took much longer than Sosha said it would and it was all for a good course; “Swita teka voma 1 hour to 30 minutes or so to finish up” explained Soshangaan, Lol we’ll spend only 90 minutes in the studio he said but they literally spent 6 hours recording and not that I’m complaining I mean it’s been great spending some quality studio time with the gents.

The song is titled #SWIKHOVHA meaning owls in English, later after the session was done the two gentlemen decided to treat me to dinner at the Kwasa Grill Ya Se Kasi Restaurant in Block H while they self-promote the unmixed track. I must say, the response from the strangers we made listen was unbelievable.

LUMPHOENIX JOINS IN A TRIO

DJ Smarties, Lumphoenix & Showcase
    Bhamba
Every big thing made off man’s hands started small and as an idea, like Martin Luther once said “I had a dream” so did DJ Smarties the founder and owner of SM Media. One morning Lumphoenix told me that he received a phone call and the guy on the other end of the line told him some very interested news about him starting a group of three artists from different cultural backgrounds and he fit the description perfectly because he is Tsonga and the other guys are Venda and Pedi.

A week after the conversation between the two professionals the manager (DJ Smarties) decided that they meet up on a formal occasion. Showcase, from Sekhukhune was also at the meeting that later turned into a studio session with DJ Davic of Masana Records in Soweto. Unfortunately the Venda rapper Bhamba was not present yet fortunately he had been in studio the previous week so he had already laced an intro, hook and a verse for their first single titled “Where We From.”

DJ Smarties & Lumphoenix
Southern Sotho (Pedi) plus a bit of Venda and some Tsonga equals SOVENGA, their single is due to hit selected radio stations in July. “S/O to Musa aka DJ Smarties, Kulani and Ras Tribe for linking us up, can’t wait for the people to hear what Sovenga is all about Baaah!” Lumphoenix explained.

I'm also waiting in anticipation for “Where We From” to play on radio Baaah!!

Dedicated to all the mamasita's and Cinderella's out there, this is not only meant for yellow bones, chocolate or caramel.

ARTS ALIVE NIGHT

A musician’s worst nightmare is an empty venue, with all the anticipation and nerves Lumphoenix stood waiting and hoping it gets filled. But as they say good musicians have great followers and to make this statement true, the venue eventually got pilled.

Shitanga Lounge is a really chilled and cozy venue, where people feel at home like I was. Even though the performances started later around 10 close to 11pm, people waited in suspense until that time to get their groove on.
Lumphoenix’s performance started at midnight and I personally must say, the stage blazed when the Tsonga vernacular spectacular got on it. That’s how he eventually managed to get booked for an event in Botswana, though dates are yet to be confirmed. Believe it or not, wherever he goes, stages will be blazed and fans shall stay amazed.

To put it in Lumphoenix’s own words: “Major regards to Fly Generation for making this gig unforgettable, they have been great... BIG UP!!”
